What typically happens during an insurance claim?
1. Pearce-Sunnel Contracting is general contacted
by the homeowner or insurance company..
2. Pearce-Sunnel Contracting will inspect the home
and provide a detailed estimate and recommendation
(repair or replace) to the homeowner. If requested,
we will also provide a copy to the insurance company.
3. The scope of work and pricing is agreed upon and
a contract is signed,
4. Work begins.
5. It is not unusual that, once work starts, additional
conditions are uncovered that require work not covered
by the original estimate. Should that happen a change
order is issued and, upon approval by the insurance
company the new work is added to the restoration project.
6. The insurance company typically will pay the complete
costs of restoration, within the insurance policy
limits, and less the deductible. The homeowner is
responsible for paying Pearce-Sunnell Contracting
the deductible amount.
Contact your insurance company to learn what limits,
if any, your insurance policy has. For example, the
insurance company will pay replacement costs only.
If you wish to upgrade parts of your home, you will
be responsible for the additional cost of the upgrade.
